Okay this thread is for posting links to any Canoe related site, whether it be a shop, coaching provider or whatever. Obviously the inclusion of a link here does not in any way suggest that SongOfThePaddle.co.uk in any way guarantees the suitability of the company or site linked to.

You are allowed to post links to your own sites.

If we can keep all posts in this thread down to a link to the site and a description about the site. Any discussion about companies or sites should be done on a separate thread. That way this thread can be a nice and easy one for people to read through.

On the subject of shops, and bearing in mind the opening comments ...

These are two well known and well used shops in the part of the SW:

Kayaks and Paddles down in Plymouth.
AS Watersports in Exeter.

I use both, and I keep going back as they are both good shops (in my experiance anyway).

I've also used WWC on and off

A community site that is dedicated to river levels for the UK contains a webcam for the River Kent in cumbria, river levels can be viewed on a wap enabled mobile, basically it relys on users submitting levels so if you are out on the river or just passing, pop by and submit a level for others to see.

The link is not working. I believe the correct link is http://www.chalknwater.co.uk/

Also you must state when you have an interest in a site you post a link for. I am happy for people to post links to their own site. Indeed you are allowed to have a link permanently in your signature.

It is always best for the connection to any site to be clear as it prevents any accusation of bias. Your post above does make it sound as if you have no connection to the above site, which is not the case.

Not a canoe site [even remotely] but one of the best surf-forecast sites on the web.

I hear you all mumbling what the hell do we need a surf-forecast for? well gpo take a look. The guys here have worked long and hard pulling all that met information together to bring a pretty good resource together which, with a bit of extrapolation, can be used for planning trips...

it's all computer modelling of course, but if you head into the 'Tools' tab all the synoptic charts are there.

It's a one stop met shop really

Yesterday Peterkm and I went for a paddle on the Lagan where we met a couple of guys who were paddling a 16ft fibreglass prospector. To our surprise they told us it was locally made, so after a bit of googling I came up with the following link
