Default Exclusive SOTP Charity auction !!!

    Hi Guys and Gals,

Here it is at last, the event you have all been waiting for.

As most of you may recall, I, (along with some friends) have over the last couple of years raised money for cancer charities. This year I have decided to raise money for the RNLI, with my mate & canoe club collegue, Garry.

Once again, I have approached a number of Canoeing based business's and individuals, and have so far secured the following items for an exclusive SOTP charity auction. You can the previous charity auction here

The winning bidders will pay for their items through the just giving webpage I have set up, thus ensuring that EVERY penny we raise WILL go to charity. It will also enable those very generous sponsors to see what amount has been raised through their generous donations.

So without further ado, these are the fantstic items that are up for grabs, happy bidding guys:-

1 days sea kayaking in either Dorset or Hampshire for 2 people. These sessions are normally run from March to November. Very kindly donated by Liquidlogistics. See here. I have a voucher to send the winning bidder with details of how to book this fantastic trip.

Yukon firebox very kindly donated by Chris Randall. See here. Chris has kindly made this donation, but has asked the winner to pay postage costs, which will be in the region of £10.

Telescopic Paddle very kindly donated by H2O kayaks. see here. Would make a great spare to keep handy.

'Canoeing' by Raw Goodwin. Very kindly donated by Ray. See here. Those of you that have already seen it will know its a great book. I'm sure we can possibly twist Ray's arm to sign it also.

Two quality Towels kindly donated by Alpkit. Ideal for those unplanned swims....

    Added 8/05/12 -
A £50 voucher for any holiday, day out or activity with Boots N Paddles

I have also been offered some coaching by one of our SOTP collegues, and once I have the available details I will update this auction.

Our very grateful thanks to all those very generous people who have supported this cause. I would like to point out that I have no connection with our sponsors, other than offering my heartfelt thanks for these donations.

    www.canoepaddler.me.uk
    www.h2okayaks.com
    www.raygoodwin.com
    www.liquidlogistics.co.uk
    www.alpkit.com

If any other coaches feel they could help in donating some coaching for a very worthwhile cause, then please PM me so we can add to the auction.

Could I please also ask Magikelly or one of the mods to make this thread a 'sticky', thanks

Please be clear in your bidding, and any questions, please PM me. If unsuccessful in your bid, you can still support this event by visiting the justgiving website and making your donation.

The auction will end at midnight on Sunday 20th May, the night we complete our 50 mile charity paddle.

    Thank you all in anticipation

    Happy paddling

    Andy & Garry

Now sure about the 'Raw' Goodwin.......... me after a very long paddle?

....... you will have to twist my arm for me not to sign it. The unsigned ones are rare and valuable.

I'll go a tenner (£10 - not Placido Domingo!) for one of the towels. (Does it come with full instructions?)

    You are very welcome.

Good luck, it is a worthy cause.

Have a commercial powerboat licence myself. Thankfully I have never needed their help, but it is good to know that they are there.

I've wanted a towel all my life too, but it seems my hopes are to be dashed once again.

I hope you enjoy your towel and don't think too much about me shivering wet and cold on some desolate shore somewhere, with only a piece of slimy seaweed to dry myself with.

£35 for Ray's book, well done to those involved in this, a worthy cause indeed. Been on the receiving end of their service in the past..
