Default River Deben Suffolk - Sunday 25th March

A there and back trip on the River Deben from Felixstowe Ferry on Sunday 25th March. The plan is to head up river with the tide, probably to Waldringfield (stop for a pint at the Maybush) and return to Felixstowe with the outgoing tide. High tide at Woodbridge is about 2pm. Being a tidal estuary the trip is dependant on the wind conditions.

Meet by the Cafe at 10.30am - on the water for around 11am.

Let me know if interested and decision will be made on Saturday when wind conditions known.

    Cheers

I am interested, but as I've a do on in London on Saturday night and a possible appointment back in Cambridge on Sunday afternoon, it may depend on whether I judge I can make it out to the Deben, take part, and back to Cambridge in time. At a guess what time would we be finishing?
    Thanks.

    Hi Ian

At the moment my intention is to head back to Felixstowe after the tide has turned which is around 2pm. It's six miles from Waldringfield back to Felixstowe which could be anything from an hour to 2 hours depending on wind etc., Probably getting back around 4pm-ish. I cannot be more precise as it depends on conditions on the day.

No problem. That's really helpful. (Maybe I'll be able to wriggle out of my Sunday commitment. I'll see.)

And my timings are looking better. I may actually be able to make this.
Will double check and confirm tomorrow.

Should be a good trip if the weather is as good as today.

Just modified the rudder as well, so may have to bring it along to see if it actually works this time It's a bit hard to test it in the garden
