    Default Hi All from Scotland!

    Hi Guys,

Just been pointed towards your website as I'm hoping to take the plunge into open canoeing this year. I've got a background in walking, camping, bushcraft and a fondness for tinkering with old stoves so I reckon more ventures are on the horizon.

Am also on the lookout for a canoe so all advice greatfully received.

    Cheers
    Craig

Hi Craig I'm another scot new to canoeing just got our 1st boat last August and havent looked back its a great way of getting off the beaten track into wild country to walk and camp. we have paddled through the winter when the weather has allowed. If you want to see a few boats in the flesh Brookbank in Perth are very knowledgable and helpful. We got a Nova craft Pall from them. its a great light allrounder. You could have a look at SCA web site for the great glen paddle fest at Fort Augustus on the 23rd -25th of March should be lots going on there with half day introduction to canoeing sessions to more advanced. Hope you get in to canoeing but be warned it's adictive. Don't know where in scotland you stay, but if you're near Fort William, give us a shout.

    Cheers

Hi Gavin and thanks for your welcome. I'm based near Grangemouth but if I'm ever up near Fort Bill I'll get in touch. Will also take a look at Brookbank as they've got some offers on just now.

    Thanks again

Hi Craig good you've got a boat, sure you will enjoy it . We are just in from a paddle from Banavie to Gairlochy on the canal and back down the river Lochy to Fort William. not the best of days weather wise but a great 15 mile paddle. Going to do the Spey from Kingussie to Aviemore tomorow as water level now looks good . Have fun with your new boat.

    Hi Craig,

Nice boat! Let me know if you ever need anyone to paddle with as I often go up to Loch Tay and also down the river from Kenmore.

    Enjoy,

    Tom.
