it is a rare sight meeting another canoeist on the water here... to me, it happens a few times per year (i'm talking open canadian, flat water racers are common)
it is even rarer these years, after the belgrade city has flattened down an old and derelict marina, in order to build a new, fancy and ultra-expensive one. in the process, a canoeing scout squad barrack was flattened, my kayak club barrack too - and it happened seven years ago. nothing has been built since. nowadays, both organisations exist on paper only. crushed under the wheels of progress...

That looks like a great backwater to paddle. I could happily spend time there having a gentle paddle about watching the world go by.
