Thread: Wild camping spots on Loch Tay

  1. Default Wild camping spots on Loch Tay

Planning a trip down r. dochart, loch tay and r. tay which will probably see me looking for a wild site about half way down loch tay. Anyone found any good spots?

Not personally. I'd say look well before dark (hmm, not an issue now, was in November), we landed several times and found found houses just through the trees until we eventually found a seemingly secluded if slightly boggy and brambly spot. Next morning it too turned out to be much closer to civilisation than we like to wild camp - oops! If you have time maybe blast on through to Grandtully and use the SCA campsite. Directions for members are on the website, you need to text someone for a code.

    How hard can it be?

Just look for all the fire pits and signs of bushwackers: they have ruined all the best spots
If it wasn't for the rain in our lives there would be no rivers. X 2
