    Default Canoeroots Magazine

Has anyone read Canoeroots magazine and is it worth getting an international subscription too?

Looks like a magazine I would enjoy.

Well if no one has read it I will have to get a copy and let you know what I think.

Same thing happened to me but I completed the registration anyway and emailed them to point out I was a UK address. I will do a review once I have received a copy and had a read.

    Default Canoe Routes Magazine

This magazine is like two for one, a canoe mag and a camping mag starts half way through. Not too bad, my friend subscribes so I just look at it for free. A lot of good info and a lot of advertising.

I would suggest KANAWA for a 4 issues a year magazine.

Its a non profit outfit and the articles are more or less gained from first hand knowledge. There are a lot of reviews, how to's and do it yourself articles that are not trying to sell you anything. I am not sure if the BCU has an equivilant?

Received my first copy today. Thinner than I expected but looks as if it will be a good read. Initial impression is that it is very much aimed at the journeying canoeist so just what I want. Funny to see a canoe magazine with no real Kayak content. No bad thing though

Finished reading it now. I enjoyed it. Not a very thick magazine but good to see one devoted purely to open canoes. I would offer to send it out to anyone who wants to have a read but I think it is illegal to lend out. Must go now and check if I have any PMs

Yes I wonder if that costs them many subscriptions. Certainly it lets you see what you get in the magazine but is not quite as handy to read on the toilet

Does seem a tad odd to run the current issue. Magazines are strange things though. Folk who are into them will buy them anyway. A while back between my dad and I we bought just about every bike mag there was even though it'd be reviews of the same bikes you'd get in each.

Seems pretty heavy on ads. Perhaps they get good rates from the manufacturers(who won't be minding what format it goes out in, as long as plenty of folk see their ads).

Nice mag, the buyers guides are a handy resource alone. Good of them to leave them up there.
