Default Dueling Banjos at Orton Staunch on the Nene

Not much of a blog, really, but not a bad video. A beautiful summer paddle, just me and an old friend, on some great whitewater at the weir. It's been a great year for decent water at Proteus Canoe Club, based at Orton Mere in Peterborough. Lots of rain has meant a summer of big water over the weir. We've made the most of it, no doubt.
    Hope you enjoy the video.

Interesting. We don’t get to see much slalom paddling, especially not in trad canoes. Any time we have seen it in the past it is smaller canoes all bagged out. This shows you can have a go in the sort of canoes that most members are used to paddling.

It's primarily a slalom club but we were largely ignoring the slalom gates on this occasion and just enjoying the water and sunshine. I've seen some great videos on youtube of slalom competitions in America using trad canoes though. Looks great fun.
