Default Loch Bad a' Ghaill, Cam Loch & Loch Assynt

Here's a wee video blog from last week in Assynt. Been dreaming of canoeing a handful of the multitude of lochs in Assynt and wild camping but the weather put paid to doing a loch a day. However you gotta roll with the punches so we booked a last minute hut to use as a base camp and managed 3 days out of 5 on the water.

It's still on mine, 40 quid for a weeks permit on nearly every loch in Assynt is hard to beat! I'd hoped to get in a bit of fly fishing as well but with the weather being kind crappy I just concentrated on canoeing. The days we couldn't get on the water were due to high winds that would have made casting a fly a nightmare. Oh well there's always next time!

We were up in that area at the start of the month. We spent the week playing in the sea and only used the canoe to get round to the quiet beaches. I did find myself looking at all the surrounding lochs on the map and thinking about a paddle in them but never go round to it. Definitely something for me to go back for.

Lovely video of my favourite part of the world, nicely edited with a great selection of different shots and a fitting soundtrack.

Smashing video. Really wish I could be up there now. Thanks for posting.
