Default Hello From Manchester (paddling in scotland in august all welcome)

Manchester based. OC Paddling in Scotland aprx. 4th-11th August anyone welcome to join me. Only route planned so far is Suilven via Loch Veyatie and Fionn.

Getting back into OC after 5 years so abit rusty. Was at BCU 3* and part of Forth CC at the time.

Message me if interested in joining. Potentially to extend Suilven trip down to sea and do a shuttle.

    Hello and Welcome!

A fantastic route, see our blogs of two trips (they're, err, quite long, and a bit Piratey).

http://www.songofthepaddle.co.uk/for...-of-Inverpolly - includes an ascent of Suilven (ish)

http://www.songofthepaddle.co.uk/for...of-the-Portage - includes lots of portaging and a (very) alternative way out to the sea than the gorge of the Kirkaig!

With an open canoe, the portage down the track along the Kirkaig would be arduous, but not impossible. There are some rough bits, and some boggy bits. Most would be a carry, not a drag, after the first part is behind you. If you can train the midges, they might help you carry the boat.
