Default 303 Protectant spray for inflatable?

    Hello All,

I have a Sunny Gumotex inflatable canoe. It is about 8 years old, so I think it is made with Hypalon.

I have contacted the company a few time but with no reply.

Does anyone use or know about 303 Aerospace Protectant? I heard it is the best stuff for UV protection.

    Thanks.

I've used 303 for years. I don't know if it's the very best UV protection but it seems ideal for your needs since it is so easy to apply. In the US people use ArmorAll on their vehicle interior plastic but ArmorAll is water soluble while 303 is not so 303 lasts much longer on surfaces exposed to water. It will make your boat slippery so be careful. After I wipe down a boat I usually use the same rag to wipe the door seals on our car.

Thanks for the replies. I'll order a spray bottle from Amazon.

If it melts my canoe - would you be okay with splitting the price for a new one?

    From their website...

    • "Safe and effective for vinyl, gel-coat, fiberglass, carbon fiber, synthetic/natural rubber, plastics and finished leather"

Since Hypalon is a synthetic rubber, I'm guessing you'll be fine.

Hi, I have a pot of it in the garage, and it does say on the label safe for inflatables. The only caveat I might raise is there's no hint of the active ingredients in the substance.
If there's any trace of silicone in the product carrying out a repair at anytime could prove problematical, so I understand.

You could always ask Jeff Bezos to buy you a new one.
