Cool Hallowscreen II The SOPT Video Comp Finals 25th-28th Oct

You are invited to the SOTP Video Competition Finals

    This a combined .wait for it....Film Festival/Paddle meet/camp out/Halloween do
The camping venue has been generously been provided by friends of SOTP Di & Jax and is located 1/2 from the River Idle in West Drayton Nottinghamshire. See Map

Camping will be available from Friday until Monday. Please note this is a field rather than a formal campsite but there will be a portaloo

    The plan is as follows
Saturday- Paddle from London Rd. to Chainbridge Lane
Saturday Night SOPT Video Competition Finals.
Sunday morning......bacon butties at the King William and shorter paddle from Scaftworth to Misson.

The river Idle is a small river mostly flat but with three or four grade 1+ features and one grade 2 feature all of which can be portaged. It is very winding in nature so you should be competent in moving water.
    Halloween costumes are almost compulsory

I'm not sure of my competency. Mal, you've watched me paddle/swim in moving water, what do you think. I'd hate to put anyone in danger trying to look after a numpty :-(

No problem at all Col. The only tricky bit really is the one rough weir, and that is portageable and very hard to sink in (being 2 inches deep!). There are a couple of tiny weirs you might try to fall out on, but I've not seen anybody succeed yet. You should come.

"Oh, Eeyore, you are wet!" said Piglet, feeling him.Eeyore shook himself, and asked somebody to explain to Piglet what happened when you had been inside a river for quite a long time.
