    Cool Scotland ... AGAIN?

Yep! I'm heading north of the wall again for a week to celebrate my upcoming half-century.

I'll be almost in the Loch of Lintrathen if anyone's near there and keen to meet up for a paddle between this Saturday and next Thursday 25th and 30th May (2019). Not sure if I'm allowed to paddle on the Loch but I'm sure someone will tell me.

I'll also have the official SOTP paddle with me so if you'd like to show it some new hands and waters, or just want to say you touched it, let me know. If you DM me I'll pass on my mobile number for more immediate communications and last minute arrangements.

Brace yourselves for some more photos!

    Go Bernie!!!!!
    Big Al.

Only when the last tree has died
and the last river been poisoned
and the last fish been caught
will we realise we cannot eat money.

To think I was considering not bringing my canoe because of the weather forecast...

Photos to come once I unpack my laptop. Getting on the water was much more important.

    Lintrathen is a wildlife reserve
    https://scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk...of-lintrathen/
and is also used for boat fishing in the summer so be a bit tactful.

When I paddle it in the winter I launch a few 00m SW of the dam (have to lift boat over a wall). The hide near the east end is also a launch possibility but gets overgrown in summer.

Clunie Loch and Marlee Loch near Blairgowrie are also quite scenic.

I'd normally recomment the river Isla but there's hardly any water in it at present, hope the weekend's rain may improve it.

I launch from the shore after going through a kissing gate at the South West end of the loch (see Google Maps), a good distance from the boat hire place. I just walk the canoe down the road on my trolley from West Lodge (again, Google Maps) where we're staying.

    It is indeed rather lovely...

    Beavers?

I'm going to call this confirmation:

Heading back West from the East end of the loch:

Taking a day out to spend with my wife who booked us this place and I plan to visit the Backwater Reservoir tomorrow or Tuesday.
