    Default Caledonian Canal repairs.

    Most canoers walk round this, but I thought it was interesting.

    Presumably most of the water is drained out rather than pumped?

    Quite. Unless the very bottom bit needed pumping, between lock cills or something. Probably just poor reporting...

    I always think it would be great if there were a way of suddenly releasing both gates at once on locks and riding the wave down, though you'd probably have to blow up the gates to achieve that!
