Default A placid day on Poole Harbour 28th Dec

With a day pass looming and the prediction of a very kind tide and flat calm conditions, I'd like to invite you to join me for a paddle in Poole Harbour this Friday, 28th December.
Conditions look spot on for a relaxed paddle up towards Wareham, where we can choose to follow The Frome up towards the town, or subject to the flow, have a go at ascending The Piddle.
Launch will be from Lake Pier (BH15 4LR) at around 10am, return by 3:30 latest, to give us time to wash off boats and pack up in the light.
Any questions, feel free to post below, or PM me directly.

Whatever suits Peter, the beaches are shallow for easy/gentle landings and I don't anticipate any waves to speak of.

Hopefully, the weather will remain good for this one... is there plenty of parking near the launch point or should i bring my trolley?

The weather is looking excellent still, although we may have some fog to contend with for the first hour or so - please drive safely!

Parking is plentiful and free at this time of year, 30-40yd portage down to the beach, or you can trolley it.

We will be joined by one or two kkers from PHCC, but they know it isn't going to be a race!

A request has been made for seal spotting, so we can either head over to Round Island, or try our luck at the entrance to The Piddle.

Hot food cook-up is on the cards for lunchtime, so bring your stoves, steaks, kettles etc.

Room for plenty more if anyone else wishes to join us

Would love to, but will be halfway to North Wales. Have fun!

Sorry you can't make it Mal, but enjoy Wales!

The sky is (was) clear and fog free, winds remain slight, so we're in for a lovely day!

Just need to pack up the car and buy the cow for lunch!

Update... the fog has arrived, though isn't too thick where I am... at the moment!
