Update as the venue has changed:
The venue for Canoefest® 2019 is Coed-Y-Glyn festival site, at the village of Glyndyfrdwy, LL21 9HF and the banks of the River Dee (Afon Dyfrdwy).

    Dates
Friday Afternoon May 24th to Monday 27th May

    To book
The event booking via Webcollect are now open https://webcollect.org.uk/oca/event/canoefest-r-2019
This is a member’s only event. Please ensure your membership is current before booking.

    What's going on?
There will be plenty going on for families and non-paddlers so should be a real opportunity to involve the whole family.

We are thrilled that Dave Rossetter, Ken Hughes and Caroline Carr will be joining us at Canoefest this year along with the ever present, Ray Goodwin MBE and Lina Patel. They will be supported by a host of coaches and volunteers providing river trips and workshops throughout Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The event will take on a similar pattern to the last few years with coaching sessions and trips on Saturday, Sunday morning and Monday. Whilst we can be confident that we will be able to offer something for everyone including full day trips, half day trips, flat water coaching, moving water coaching, tandem coaching and technique improvement, we would still like you to book onto available courses at the event. That way the available coaches can assess the conditions beforehand.

Sunday afternoon will be site based with lots of opportunities to try out different boats and have some fun and games both on and off the water. There will be a Ceilidh on Sunday evening.

Food is optional, but you will need to book in advance.

You can book sessions on arrival, rather than pre-booking. This will give us flexibility to change offerings depending on conditions and coaches availability. If there’s something you really want to do, drop us an email and we will do our best to include it in the programme.

The venue will have portaloos and gas powered mobile shower units. Dogs are permitted but must be on a lead at all times.

As in previous years we wish to be as environmentally friendly as we can. Therefore I will urge you to bring along your own plates and cutlery even if you are having food from the caterer. There will be a bar serving beer and cider and we will happily serve you in your own (plastic or non-breakable for safety) glasses. Please make your own provision for wine or other drinks.

We will not be providing rubbish bins so please plan to take home with you any waste that you make.

We always like to learn from prior years, so this year we would like you to tell us what type of accommodation you will be camping in, this way we can manage the festival space better. Booking is now live. I would urge you to book early. Last year lots of people left it to the last minute and were disappointed to miss out we will aim to close booking by May 17th or earlier if we have reached our limits.

We look forward to seeing you at Canoefest®. You are welcome to arrive Friday afternoon from 2:00pm onwards, however reception and booking will not be available until 4:00pm.

We look forward to seeing you at the event.

Hi guys, I will be coming along tomorrow but was just wondering whether or not it is ok to bring a fire pit for a spot of campfire cooking? It is raised off the ground. Atb Daz.
