Default RSS feed to Twitter help

Currently we use http://dlvrit.com/ to post new threads to our Twitter feed. This works fine but they are about to reduce the posting on the free account from 10 a day to 3. Also instead of checking hourly it will be once every 24 hours. I’m looking into alternatives and the best seems to be www.IFTTT.com It looked easy enough to set up but when I tested it nothing happened.

Further investigation flagged up that out RSS feed seemed to not validate (whatever that means). See the results here, https://validator.w3.org/feed/check....%3Ftype%3DRSS2

Our RSS feed which we have used with dlvr.it and twitterfeed before that is this

    http://www.songofthepaddle.co.uk/for....php?type=RSS2

So I don’t understand why it works with them but not ifttt and why it fails validation. I also don’t really understand half of what I just typed so bare that in mind when replying

I suspect this may may come back to the older forum software and server software we are running so may resolve itself with the upcoming updates.

Validation ... it's barfed on the non-ASCII chars in the 'trousers' thread. These aren't allowed in URL's. I suspect the RSS generator is out of date. Perhaps try replacing the two 'a' characters with the dots above (these have a proper name, which I don't know) with a normal 'a' and try again?

Thanks. I’ve done that and set the IFTTT applet to run. We will see if it posts my test thread as a tweet.

Yay, working now. That should stop us hitting limits etc. Now off to turn the dlvr.it feed off.
