Default Advice - Trent and Mersey Canal/River Weaver

Hi, It's in the early stages but i'm planning a 2 day paddle hopefully with a wildcamp. So far i've plotted a route heading south on the Trent and Mersey Canal from Acton Bridge, then peeling off onto the shropshire union at Middlewich and then portaging onto the Weaver somewhere near the lower flash and heading back to Acton Bridge. Anybody any experience of paddling any of these sections?

    Hi,

That bit of Trent & Mersey I've paddled a few times usually in the dark . The Weaver too but it's quite a while since I last paddled on there. You might find this link from the Canal & River Trust useful in your planning ... https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/media...ver-weaver.pdf

With the current wind and rain there might be a few trees down on the Weaver ... somewhat like this? ... http://www.songofthepaddle.co.uk/for...ond-the-Barrel
