    Default Wastwater, discreet wild camp?

To be, or not to be?

Taking my new canoe up there in a weeks time.

Hmm - Wasdale has probably the least cover of anywhere in the Lakes. There's a wooded area at the Southwest end, but there's a track along the shoreline. I'd stay away from the area by the building at NY 146038, as that's the water intake for the pipe to Sellafield and you don't want anyone questioning why you're there! The whole Southeast shore, below the screes, is likely to be unfrequented overnight and nobody is likely to object, on the other hand it's steep and rocky with few flat spots, and visible from the other side. I'd try below the screes, and if you don't find anything, go for the wood and pitch late.
