    Default Nervous novice

Hi, I'm a newcomer to the Forum, live in Herts and river kayak on the Gt Ouse in Bedfordshire, UK. Now spending more time in North Norfolk and keen to explore the salt marshes and areas around Morston, Blakeney and Wells. I have done some sea kayaking on a course and on escorted trips, now looking for leisurely paddles with nature watching and a gentle work-out rather than anything too exciting.

Any pointers welcome, I look forward to e-chatting with everyone.

    Hello and Welcome!

Can't really help with the specifics, but on a nice calm day, the waters around Blakeney would be a lovely spot. Watch out for mud at all but higher tides though!

I'd say try it by starting an hour before high tide, and finishing up to an hour after, paddling on the slack and deepest water. When there's no wind!
