    Hello and Welcome!

Rather depends on your budget mate! And what you call light. Something like a Nova Craft Pal in Tuffstuff might be a good canoe for Scottish Loch paddling. Apache canoes come in various weight lay ups. At the lower end, if you're both fairly small, the Hou 14 is a cheaper option at a lower weight but won't have the capacity or capability of a 16'.

Or, of course, look second hand too. Wenonah Prospector 15s and Nova Craft Pals, both in Royalex, are considered reasonably light compared with many (certainly lighter than your Disco!). And most Royalex canoes will be around 30kg or less which, with practice, is manageable solo.
