Default River Wey Paddle Sat 12th May 11am - Tannery/Bowers Lane

the forecast is looking promising for Saturday so I thought I'd post up a paddle. I'm open to suggestions but I was thinking to put in at either the Tannery (Send, GU23 7EF) or Bowers Lane (Burpham, GU4 7ND). if anyone fancies playing tour guide for one (or more) of the loops around there, that might be nice

    all very welcome

    Andy

Nice one Andy, i may be up for this but was thinking of bashing my way up the Hoe stream before it grows too much. What loops do you have in mind... do you like swans?

I was thinking one/some out of the Triggs/Old Woking/Abbey loops as I haven't done any of those, but happy to go with the flow, so to speak. I've put it up on FB too, so we'll see how many we get.

That's as much as a plan as we need!

Have you put it on the SOTP FB Group? If not, I can if you want.

right then chaps, the forecast is now looking possibly rather damp for tomorrow. since it looks like just the three of us, what do you want to do - chance it or take a (literal) rain-check & try again another time?

Looks fine until late afternoon, early evening. I'll be going somewhere, so it might as well be this! I can, though, do Sunday too if you prefer that, and I'll go biking tomorrow instead.

Time moved forward to 10.30 to try and beat the later rain.

All still welcome! Especially, if you're good at hypnotising swans for Maj.

thank for a very pleasant paddle gents, in spite of the slightly damp ending. I think the Woking Palace people were a bit bemused at us turning up to their open day by water

I don't think I saw Mal's camera make an appearance on the whole trip, which must be a first

8.22mph max speed is impressive - well done

Although the average of 1.15mph is a little less so.

I was tempted to join you chaps but when I awoke found I was nailed to the bed and couldn't move....but that's a story for another forum.

I think the max speed is about as accurate as the ascent/descent numbers

8.22mph is the speed Andy went once he realised that Samson was coming?

Don't remember holding my breath for the -20m section.
