I'm not sure that helped with the winter non-paddling blues but it took me right back to the feeling of the similar Scandinavian trips we've done over the last few years.
On the first of them, Fred (Scoutmaster here) said to me that there was something addictive about these trips .... anyone doing them will recognise just how right he was.

I'm with you. It's -37 here today (with the wind-chill) and paddling seems a long way off in either direction. Jason seems to have a knack of making you feel like you are actually there which certainly helps me get through dark cold Januarys.
