    Default Canoefest 2018

As in previous years we will arrange trips, coaching and workshops throughout the event for full days and half days.
We are also exploring the possibility of putting on short evening workshops. If you have a topic that you wish someone to help you with, just post it here and we will do our best to arrange.
Typically we will have space for a second had kit sale so bring along anything that you wish to sell, swap or give away! It normally helps is you label up kit with your details so people that wish to purchase can find you!
We will be working on the event program during Febuary. If you have any thoughts on content or have any special request now is the time to let us know.
The target is to have Bookings open late February/ early March.
    OCA Canoefest Team.

    Day paddlers only.
    Weekend bookings closed.
This should be a great event.
You should think about coming next year, it is always fun.

Hi Guys, I'm not a member (yet) but would like to come along on Monday for a gander at the show and see what it's all about. Is it possible to join on the day? Or I noticed on site that it's possible to a prospective membership, will that allow attendance? Also are there any day tickets available for monday? Atb Daz.

Bookings closed about 10 days ago.
paperwork is being prepared ready for the key team to start setting up Thursday.
if you email Alan.mellor@opencanoe.info he’ll let you know if it’s possible to get a day ticket at this late notice.
to be honest, Sunday is by far and away the best day to see what’s going on as most of the day the workshops and events are happening onsite.
saturday and Monday, folk will be off on trips and workshops in and around the area.
if you just want to c9me have a look and a chat, I’m sure we won’t turn you away. To take part in any workshops though you will need to have booked.
hope this doesn’t sound too negative but there is a great deal of work gone in to pulling this together and adding/cancelling people at the last minute can be a bit stressful.
Booking has been open now for many months after all.
    chers, Gary

Hi Badger73 I hope you can make it along for a chat and see what we are up to, if you can't get booked in.
Plus the following weekend we are at Beale Park Reading for Quiet Water Conclave 2 at the Boat and Outdoor Show.

Hi both, thanks for getting back to me on this. I'll try email about booking but would be coming along pretty much to chat and mooch rather than booking on workshops at this point anyway. I will try for Monday as I'm at a bushcraft show all weekend and then on to Devon after hopefully dropping in on you guys. If it doesn't happen I hope you all have a great weekend and the sun keeps shining! Atb Daz.

Thank you, so very much to all of you who made Canoefest 2018 such a great success.
Thanks to all the coaches, who gave up their time.
Thanks to those who brought all the displays and demo equipment.
Thanks to those who gave the talks.
Thanks to those who volunteered their time before, during and after the weekend.
(you know some of us but there are many more doing something or many things to help the weekend.) A few went above and beyond.
Thanks to Clare and Aubrey for the venue.
Thanks most of all to the people who came and made all the effort worthwhile.
Thanks for leaving the site so clean.
Our thanks to all of you from all of us.

We had a fantastic time at Canoefest thanks to the brilliant organisers and all the people who attended. It's taken a while to get here due to commitments at work and on the canoe front and I still haven't uploaded the photos on to one of the hideous hosting sights. If anyone wants to see the pictures from the demo afternoon they're on Facebook on the OCA page.

See you next year or sooner if you want a test paddle.

    Thanks again everyone!

Hi guys, I did make it on Monday morning and had the chance to meet a few folks, so would just like to thank you for letting me drop in at short notice. Sadly I missed most of the action as most were heading home by then but it was great to get an idea of your gathering and chat to some of you. Looking forward to Chirk! Also going to look in to the river Avon paddle in a couple of weeks on the website as it's in my neck of the woods. Cheers again. Atb Daz.

Sorry I missed you. I heard you had popped in and seemed to like what you did see. Enjoy The Avon with Chris.
