Default River of Fire - Hap Wilson

"PUT UP YOUR DAMN PADDLE" I screamed, more than once.
No response; Dawson just smiled defiantly.
I quickly thought of all my options of which there was only the one; that option made my stomach turn.
F... this, I said out loud - this is insane!
    I had no other choice.
I yelled at my two companions up front to take down the sail, reached under the spray-cover in front of me and gripped the stock of the Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun and thumbed the safety off.

Its a good read, if a little tense rather than relaxing. A story about a canoeing expedition to the Seal River in Manitoba over 20 years ago. Not a typical canoe trip and one where you have to think hard about why you might allow yourself to get into a situation such as theirs. But I have been in the situation myself, where you find yourself wondering if its just you?

I thought it was well written and informative. You might need to suspend a little belief and there is a magazine article referenced in the book which I'd like to have some sort of link to. I'd also like to have seen some of the photos that were talked about but overall I'd say it was worth the effort.
