Default Too good to be true?

Has anyone dealt with Outdoor Marine Centre? According to the website they're based in Dartford and appear to be selling an extensive range of canoes and kayaks for excellent prices. Additionally they offer delivery to their partners across the country.

Do they have a website? I've not heard of them.

I don't know them at all, and that's my neck of the woods (although the other side of the Great Water lol). Do you have any more information as I can't find anything by googling.

I found a website, eventually, by google.

I notice they do not have an address or phone number on the website, just a post code. Did a post code search and it seems that they are not listed by the name "Outdoor Marine Centre" at that post code, nothing similar or likely to indicate presence there.
A look at Google street view reveals a board that lists the companies on the Optima Park industrial estate, no Outdoor Marine Centre listed, don't know how recent the Google street view is however.

All the above would make me wary of dealing online with such a website company.

Alarm bells certainly ringing over the lack of info. Its possible that its a start up business, as all the canoes have a "delivery expected from Sep/23/17" message against them. If you go to the Delivery & Returns page, they seem to be planning to use local agents, probably in the marine industry e.g. chandlers etc, to delivery their products.

I would suggest caution! The margins left after these discounts, the cost of supplying to these local agents, etc, etc, mean there would be very little left for them, which makes me suspicious as to how they'd intend to make a long term profit anyway.

I wonder if any of the suppliers, e.g. Justin at Hou, can confirm that they will be supplying this business? I can't see it sitting well with any of their normal suppliers who will be their biggest customers!

I've registered a fake account and gone through to buy a boat.

They only take payment by BACs which is immediately suspicious. If the deals are too good to pass up, get in touch and see if they'll do Cash on Delivery.

Otherwise, not worth a punt without Paypal and Credit Card protections.

I've sent Hou a message to see if they've heard anything about the company. I'm almost certain it's a scam.

Hou have confirmed they have nothing to do with the company and it's a scam.

They're trying to get something done about it.

Thanks Per. Was going to contact them, but you beat me to it! Thanks Andy for highlighting it.

According to the Royal Mail there's no 18 Allerton Road, although Nominet thinks it's validated the name and address so ??
