Thread: Children's canoe paddles

    Default Children's canoe paddles

    Hi

Looking at getting some proper paddles for my children who until now have been using half a kayak split paddle each.

They are 4 and 6 years old but small for the age at 170cm and 95 cm tall respectively.

Looking for something relatively inexpensive and wondering about the shorter paddles offered here

    Other suggestions appreciated

Strikes me that something with a narrower blade might be easier to manage but can't seem to see anything like that and don't have time to make my own wooden paddles just now.

    Thanks

    Ewan

    Big Al.

Only when the last tree has died
and the last river been poisoned
and the last fish been caught
will we realise we cannot eat money.

    Hi Ewan,
We bought one of these: http://www.endlessriver.co.uk/kiddy-p-1010.html for our eldest (3 year old). Looks like the paddles you have found are the same dimensions, so should be fine and will be much more fun than using half a kayak paddle!
Not sure how long it would take for a paddle to make its way from Germany, though i'm sure Endless river would be quick, being UK based.

    Thanks

Gon for a small and medium grey owl paddle.

I have been impressed with endless river but only had one size of paddle in stock.

    You won't be disappointed.
Our two boys have gone through the whole range of Grey Owl Owlet paddles and I need to order a Tenderfoot now for the eldest.
The Basswood makes the paddles very light and for prolonged use we have found this is important for children.
