A great weekend for all the family, camping, socialising and enjoying probably the finest flat water paddling in the UK. Explore, spot otters, Bitter, Kingfishers but overall having a great time.

I've joined the OCA as prospective member as I am looking to build up a network. I've been a solo paddler for too long. I heard about this event just a little too late last year. Do you canoe sail?

I am sure that there will be a sail or two up depending who comes along. There is another event which Greg Spencer has booked for May at Barton Turf which will definitely involve sailing.

I am assuming that you mean that you have completed the BTAC form. So that we can keep track of numbers please register on the main OCA website, go to Events and register to show that you are attending this OCA event.

    Thanks

I think we are both talking about Prospective Membership of the OCA. Well I know I am. The BTAC web site says that it has not been updated since June 2016 and many of the links dont work.

I am having to email them directly.

Thanks but as Prospective Members the OCA still asks you to sign up . Please see here https://www.opencanoe.info/membership
There is a link towards the bottom of the page. It allows me and other event organisers to have a complete list of names and details of attendees. Unfortunately Twosinks from the Norfolk Broads means little to me!

BTAC is probably on winter shut down at the present so you may not get a response for a bit. They will be doing maintenance but will catch up with everything...eventually.

    Thanks

    Nick

    Hi Folks

Re. OCA - anyone can register (for free) on the OCA website. You instantly become a "prospective member" - but we do get a LOT of spam applicants!

Some are easy to spot - those with email addresses ending @mail.ru and @mailspam.xyz - but many look ok... like a recent "Windy MacGregor" with simple, seemingly innocuous e-mail address. Good job I used a search engine: known source of spam!

I've just had a trawl through and activated ~ 5 accounts, including (I believe) two associated with this discussion. If that's you, logging in should now work - and if not, please let me know. A message here will suffice!

For anyone new coming along: if you drop me a line when you apply I can go and make the account active straight away.

Alternatively... membership only costs £15 (£25 for a family) and is fully automated.

Click on that picture and the rest should follow!

    Greg.

Hi GregandGinaS, yes one of the accounts you activated was mine thanks, just waiting to confirm the dates with my other half before we can commit to the event.

Hi Blott, the link http://http://www.btac-services.co.u...rticipants.pdf does not seem to work, When clicking the link I receive the following message

    This site canít be reached

Not sure if it is just my connection or a problem.

Always fun. We are working out (1) if we are free and (2) if we should paddle to BTAC from Hoveton & Wroxham or drive there.

I am just sending my booking form in for Angelika & I. Work on the normal basis that we will have a Group Meal on the Saturday evening catered by BTAC @£14 per head. It cant be beaten.

    See you there.

We have a problem on the Thursday night - we have a youth cruise in, with whom we have a long-standing arrangement. We were expecting them on Tuesday & Wednesday, we now find out they're coming on Wednesday & Thursday.

Unless you can produce an Enhanced DBS certificate, I cannot let you in on Thursday night. They should be gone by 0900 or thereabouts on Friday.

We'd be grateful if people would plan accordingly. If it's a severe problem e.g. if you're coming hundreds of miles - email me at bookings@btac-services.co.uk.

Caravans and campervans will find a small touring site at Street Hill Farm, Neatishead, about which I know absolutely nothing.

Sorry, but we are constrained by our operating contract.
    Simon
