Default WCHA- River Cam Sunday 9th October

There will be a Wooden Canoe Heritage Association paddle on the River Cam. We will start at Byrons Pool Nature Reserve Grantchester Cambridge, paddle into the city portaging at the Bishops Pool. Then it's along the world famous Cambridge Backs which will give you a different view of the Colleges. We will stop for a picnic lunch at Jesus Green lock before returning to Grantchester. About a 4 hour return paddle.

Start time 9.30 am for a 10 am off.

So if you have a wooden canoe and want to join us for a lovely autumnal peer paddle come along but do let me know if you are coming.

Sunday 9th October . Save the date.

    Nick

Nick, I hope to be there. (Which I know is not the same as saying I definitely will, so I won't be offended if you plan cakes on the assumption I'm not coming--family commitments make it hard to commit with certainty.) Will be good to be out on the water with friends again!

With your permission I'd like to "crash" this meet in a non wooden boat. Never managed to hook up with other trips.

Woohoo looks like I'll be there...I recommend you come to this not only to canoe the College 'backs' (?) but also for the buns that Blott buys in Cambridge!!

Despite my best spiel,, Gwyn remains adamant that she will drop me off and pick me up, but will not be paddling!!! So solo it is. All arrangements made, boat and car packed, all ready.

Nick, I'm sorry to say I shall be paddling, but not, unfortunately, at the same time as you guys. The aforesaid family commitments have intervened. I'll likely bump into you on the river at some point during the trip, but I'll probably be going the other way in a rush to get back for dealing with children at midday.
    Sorry!
It looks like a cracking day for a paddle.
