Default The Ulster Canoe Festival 16-18th September 2016

The first Ulster Canoe Festival is set to happen from 16-18th September on the banks of Lough Neagh in Shane's Castle estate in Northern Ireland.

A selection of top coaches will be in attendance and a wide range of sessions and workshops have been arranged.

Full details are on the website www.ulstercanoefestival.com

    The Weekend package is
    • 2x Nights camping at shanes castle
    • 4x Coach led sessions (lots of different options)
    • Saturday evening entertainment and meal (BBQ and Spit roast - http://www.challasroast.com/our-menus/)
    • A goodie bag including event T-Shirt
    • Various on the spot Prizes
    • A Hou Canoe Sponsored Challenge event

We are pleased to be able to offer this whole package at £45 per head.

We have even managed to secure discount ferry travel with a local travel agent ( http://nutttravel.com/index.php?cID=354#.V3aU2Fc-fVp )

So for all the Irish based paddlers this should be an event worth going to

And if anyone is keen on coming across and experiencing some Irish hospitality you will be made very welcome.

If you have any questions please ask!!

I hope to see you all there!!

I'm almost sure my September is already far too busy with paddling and work plans, but I do like the sound of this!

for anyone wanting to do this on a budget.
Fly into either Belfast airports (international or George Belfast city). The international airport is 5 miles away from the venue and the city is only 18 miles away.
i can arrange kit (give me a heads up in advance) and could get you a complete weekend for around £100. (flying across friday morning Liverpool to belfast and back again on Sunday evening is £45!!)
There are enough of us floating around all weekend to make sure everyone can get lifts etc if needed.

I'd love to do this, but got a lot of juggling to do. That's actually the next weekend I have free this year, and its not really free, thanks to work stuff. If I can, it will be a fly in and out job. Thanks to those who've already contacted me offering help, can't confirm just yet, but we'll see.

I fully expect Big Al to talk me into it whilst drunk in Knoydart...but I might have to send him to talk to the boss afterwards....

Nutt Travel just quoted me £322 and P&O have quoted me £242 return! You may need to tell them to re-calculate their discount code.

I should be on commission with the Norn Iron tourist board.

But yes, I'm happy to help out. I'll be passing the city airport on my way to the event and can help with pickups from the international airport too if necessary.

There was and issue there had been 1 nights accommodation added for some reason they came back with £265 so it has still come back cheaper going to P&O directly.

Just giving this thread an unashamed "Bump" to keep it in focus.

Well I didn't give you a hard time at Knoydart, but the offer still stands, fly in and out and we'll sort you out with gear. You can leave the Meccano set at home, and if you think you can make do with hand luggage, I'll get you some camping gear too.

Shame. Obviously I didn't lean hard enough on you in Knoydart. I'll try harder next year.
