    Default Who's going to York?

The annual York Canoe Race is on the 11th of June 2016, are you going?

I competed in this a couple of years ago with my good friend Roger. (here's the blog)

Roger and I are going to have another go. We would have done it last year, but they moved the date from July to June and we were unable to go.

So we would like to beat our last time of 40 minutes for the 5K course.

If you are in the area, why not come along and have a go?
Its for a good cause and the craic is mighty. Or just come along and shout at us from the river bank, we'd be glad of the support/encouragement/abuse.

It's the night before the race and Roger and I will be having a team talk shortly to discuss our tactics.

My team is either poorly and/or injured. So I've given myself a dam good talking to and decided to stay in bed.................and then I thought about my former sporting glories..............2nd (out of 3) in a previous York race and 'not last' in the Liffey Descent..... And really who am I to deny the public of another display of my paddling prowess. So I'll see you there Al after some carbo loading at Ronnie Macs......try and keep up........ Up Mayo!
