    Default Marauders

I just wanted to say the word 'Marauders' to see who else is anticipating some great Marauders adventures this year?

With you Uncle Albert - the high winds across the country have been a bit of an impediment to unrestrained marauding....

Not sure if the Marauding bears are out of hibernation yet, but I'm sure they'll pop up soon enough...

Severe organisational problems here at marauders central, i've lost my driving licence due to failing eyesight, my beloved doesn't drive the m/home so I'm dependant on Two sugars as and when his shift work allows. He won't know his summer rota till April 2nd so l feel completely B*****d and nailed to the floor, especially as the Hop Farm has priced itself out of our reach (my closest venue) . please excuse the whinge as I loved organising and attending our meets, I know Chris twosugars has brassknocker basin and a couple of others in mind when he gets his new timetable. Any advice I can give to anyone thinking of running a meet just give a call.

Hope to see you all soon ,Woodworm (down but not out)

Thanks folks, my fertile little brain is still scheming of ways, ,a canoe like Mals No too much effort required with madame Fifi( the rubber persuader)the hammer. Go back to the Zen paddling or threaten Chris with a series of rent increases to deliver me to venues in advance when his schedule permits,by George I think I've cracked it..

Excuses excuses! All he needs is his bus pass, a drysuit and his "human coracle" method...

I see that was in the era of the pope hat. You would think that he could stand up instead of just laying there.

Should I book a Somerset Levels for June? Let me know if a) it conflicts with anyone elses thoughts / plans and if you are b) interested. In order to get that site to our selves we need at least ten units and enough time to book in advance...................

Sadly on learns that you can't do these things in everyone's favour.....I am sure it will be a goer, I have today confirmed that date with Wendy at Doolittles, where we stayed x 2 last year, usual paddles on the canal and parrett and anywhere else I can think of!! One on the calendar, any other takers that want to venture into organising a weekend, Ted is very clear that there is no exclusivity to these weekends, so i have heard North Devon (Pete) mentioned and Poole Harbour (Adrian O) mentioned in the past so if your willing to have a go, I and I am sure Ted, 2 sugars and all the others will help you out with the how to do bits, but it is not rocket science.

I don't expect anyone to commit yet to this weekend, but will post reminders nearer the time, but do put it in your diary.

    And we're off!!!

Well done Uncle, even if someone knows a pretty or interesting paddle on a canal, river or estuary, the sea is too weather dependent,we can search camping UK or other camping websites. then a phonecall to campsite, they are usually only too happy to oblige us. If the campsite is on water so much the better. Then You pick a date, if you ask or give options it gets bogged down.then just post and they will come

Going to try and gain a lieu day to make this one by working the may BH .

My summer work rota starts sun 24th April so should know my days off by early / mid April. A provisional date for a Brassknocker bash is June 10th, 11th and 12th, but I cannot confirm this until I have my dates and have spoken to Richard, the site owner. Fingers crossed!
