Default Anglers Trust Letter to EA

I thought it worth highlighting point 6 in the Anglers Trust letter to the EA

    6. We propose that RFERACs should focus on fisheries and conservation, and lose responsibility for recreation and navigation.

RFERACs being the Regional Fisheries, Ecology and Recreation Advisory Committee

Their basic aim is to have the EA act as a controlling body with the various local River Trust being paid to carry out the local activities, they want to be responsible for structural work and supplying and controlling the river Bailiffs. As we know most of these Trust are run by local megalomaniacs who will stop at nothing to get control of all aspects of a river, if the EA loses Recreation & Navigation from its brief we should demand our own agency to represent all the other river users.

I see that further down the article linked to above that
" RFERACs should lose responsibility for recreation (other than angling) and navigation, ...." (emphasis added)

I'm sure it was posted with the best intent, it does show the depths they will go to in trying and take control of the rivers. It t may be useful information for the future.

Naughty corner for you Smurf, 10 mins should do.
