    When I was a child it was 2-3 cases per year..

    It does seem to be the young who are more at risk?

    I cant remember a time when I didn't have an open cut and go in the Thames. Every single time I am in the river there will be a open cut on me somewhere.

    Lepto is pretty rare in the UK. Record levels last year could be attributed to the exceptionally warm water temperatures we had, enticing folk into the water? And the fact that watersports such as canoeing and kayaking have seen an increase in participants...
