I paddled a Gumotex a lot last year and found no issues with over inflating. Mine was rated at 3psi and I always inflated the sides and base to 3.4-3.6psi to compensate for the pressure drop after being on the water. It beats re-inflating. You're right, it makes a big difference to solo paddling especially. As has been mentioned , you can install PRV's in both side tubes but I didn't see the need. If you want to be lazy you can purchase a 12V pump from Decathlon that will take your boat up to the exact pressure you want before shutting off. Of course, you will need to be close by your car for power or buy a small 12V battery.

I'm not in a position to start a new thread but am very interested in getting a couple of Gumotex Boats for my family of 5 to paddle. I've been wondering about the Scout, either the Eco or Standard version. I want to be able to tour (up to 3 nights) on Scottish and French rivers and also on lakes/lochs. Does anyone have experience of the Gumotex Scout in this application or any other recommendations? TIA
