Bought one of the new Aldi dry-bags today, V2 is more expensive than the earlier ones but it kas an inbuilt carry handle and a strap to carry like a duffle bag too.

Yesterday my new 56" Grey Owl Touring 12 degree bentshaft paddle arrived, 50 + 11 postage. Got christened too ... magic

See eBay Item No 330897168492 ... the seller has just one left as of 17:07PM, 3/04/13.

Same seller has other paddles too, can post up to 3 paddles for the 11 ... the Sirocco double blade split with carbon ferrules was too tempting at 60 ... there was a 240cm ... there isn't anymore, that's mine too ... there still are 220cm doubles ...

    And 60" Haida's for 30 ...

Bought one on the way home this evening. It works just fine, 8Meg piccies, VGA video, nice and light. I even put it in a bowl of water to check the waterproofing. Certainly worth 40. Now in my BA front pocket.

Just back from Aldi ... no cameras, must be all sold, I've got something similar from Maplins anyway ... however their reduced section had big nylon bags for sale, no price ... had to go and ask ... apparently they are shopping trolley bags, a circa 14-15" cube ... clips to clip to a trolley ... but I thought excellent to store/transport paddling kit, in the house or car ... the best bit they were 1-99p each :-D

I bought 5 ... Chris might get some of her shopping bags back now ;-)

Sport Pursuit are having a big baselayer sale - some of the prices look very good.

Also Contour HD waterproof video cameras are 46% off (129.90).

This is the link to the main site, but I wouldn't be offended if you wanted to use this link which then adds a referral to my account .

Stolquist x traxt can be had for as little as 79 quid, do a search and a few should come up between 79-89 quid! Usually price around 130-140...

If anyone is looking for very large, warm sleeping bag this is bargain at moment

    http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/coleman-...ng-bag-p262803

pack size is horrible but I am over 6 foot tall and this goes right over my head, and I have the build of an ex prop forward gone to seed (which is what I am!) and this is no restriction around shoulders/ upper arms that I find in lots of bags. A great bag if you are not concerned about pack volume.

Saw the GoPro. Good price, as its for a kit, but wasn't 100% sure if its as good an offer as it appears, as its the GoPro2. Any thoughts from users?

SportsPursuit have Sweet Troopers at 45% off. I'm pretty sure that these are almost identical to the Rocker and are suitable for whitewater use (see here and here).

If anyone is interested, I'd suggest contacting Sweet directly to get their opinion (and let the rest of us know!).

Also on the site they have some Sevylor canoes seemingly at a good price.

Why not use a couple on the paddle shaft to stop that drumming sound which always accompanies the Grumann

whilst in Aldi I noticed these https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuy...drill-adaptor/
(right angled drill adapter) perfect for drilling upwards into the underside of gunwales and the like. At only 4.99 they have to be on any canoe builders shopping list. I've fitted the air bag lashing eyelets with mine today.

LIDL have similar drill adapters at the moment at similar cost ... so if you've not got an ALDI near you ...

They also have belt sander sets, six texture grades for 2.99 ... I bought a set ... not for use in a belt sander ... for hand sanding the thwarts I've made ... much more robust than ordinary paper, sand then tap it to remove the wood dust and off again
