Mary and I will be in Northern Island at the weekend. Thought we might drive to Lough Erne and hire a canoe... any tips from those with local knowledge?

    Thanks

    Hi Doug,
there is a big canoe and kayak event on this weekend at Lough Melvin which isn't too far from Enniskillen. Bikemec, Peterkm and myself will be there so I'm sure we will be able to get something arranged.
I have sent you a PM with my contact details.
    Big Al.

    Default Weekend at Lough Melvin

I will be in Bundoran on the weekend of 23 feb. Is that when the event is?

In any case, I would appreciate any details of canoe hire. I will be in someone else's tranport so can't take mine over.

    Cheers

If you mean the Paddle Fest, you've just missed it.
I'm afraid I don't know of any canoe hire places in the Bundoran area.

    Doug and Mary,
thanks for joining us yesterday at Beleek, we enjoyed your company, and thanks for bringing such good weather with you.

Thanks to you... for making it so easy for us to join you for a superb day... we had never had any formal training before... we learnt many useful techniques... I'd recommend training to anyone, who like me, has spent years paddling in complete ignorance of how much your technique can be improved...

Thanks too, to the Song of the Paddle for making it possible for Alan and ourselves to link up... we'l be spending more time in Ireland this year... there is some beautiful water there, and very kind and friendly folk... the music and the Guinness is pretty good too...
