    Default Loch Quoich 11th / 12th March

Planing a camping trip to Loch Quoich Sat 11th Sun 12th March with optional walk to Sgurr Mor
If weather poor may stay at bunkhouse at Tomdoun and have day paddle on Loch Garry or camp on one of the islands

    Smile Quoich

Fabulous area - did a solo paddle & climbed one of the Munros a couple of years back & few midges in March (still some even with snow up high)!

    Have fun

    Default Where were you camped?

    Hi Alistair,

Where were you camped? From your photo I am trying to work out if the snowcapped mountain is Garich or Sgurr Mor. Both these mountains have the same landscaped features seen from Loch Quoich. There is a stalkers path from the shore to Sgurr Mor,this path however starts at the foot of Sgurr Mor and doesn't follow the shoreline from the dam.Ring any bells let me know if possible.Weather permitting we hope to paddle to the foot of Sgurr Mor and camp there, from the OS map it appears to be somewhat flat (ha ha) there is a building marked ( ruin or bothy?).

    Yours Mutineering Maggie.

    Default Gairich

I paddled from the east end of the loch, camped just N of Gairich - the view is looking West towards Sgurr Mor. There appears to be flat ground around a lot of the loch, though it may be a bit boggy.

I'll try & post some more pics later- keep watch.

    Default Loch Quoich

    Hi,

We did the paddle/portage through to Loch Nevis/Mora about 7 years ago. Excellent trip, tough. We had storms on the second day which put good water into the burn into Loch Nevis so that made it easier, probably G3+.

Enjoy your little foray hope there is some white stuff around and the Loch not frozen.
