    Default Ossian, Loch

Some pictures from my reccy of this Loch last weekend. Difficult to get to but it is possible via Loch Treig and a 5km portage. The train stops at nearby Corrour if you have an inflatable or folder.

    Cheers,

last picture is of the youth hostel. Not always open in Winter, often is booked by groups for a weekend but not available during the week.

Have bivi'd near by to here when the loch was completely frozen over.

In heavy snow it is not the easiest of locations to be in so make sure you have the right equipment with you!

    Smile Portage

Loch Treig to Loch Ossian would be a loooong uphill portage. I've walked it several times with a heavy pack. Good coffee at the station though! Loch Ossian is famous in my book for its midgies. Have been known to carry off small children.
