Default Central Scotland paddle this weekend (Sun 14th)

    Hi folks,

I'm all flu'd up but am desperate to get out for a paddle this weekend. Nothing too strenuous, just a leasurely paddle would be fine.

Anyone fancy meeting up? Not fussed where, I was thinking either the Trossachs or Loch Lomond?

Might be available but not sure if it will be Saturday or Sunday. We could put a cache back at Tam's Doorway.

    Default yup

    Yeagh that would be cool.

I'll grab a new box from tesco's this week and have a rake for some stuff to go in it.

I'm free either day, it doesn't really matter.

I have a feeling Sunday is likely to be the best day for me. I might even have my girls with me so could lent them out as ballast

No need I still have a few boxes as I have only done the first cache. Of course if you have any tat to go in the box it would not go amiss.

Well my plan is now Sunday at Ardochy (just south of Luss) for 10.30 am

Sunday is meant to be sunny but not sure about the wind. Plan would be to set pt Tam's Doorway back but if there are a lot of us I might hold off so that you can try and find it some time. Of course those who do not know where it was could try and take us to where it used to be

I'll change the thread title to reflect it is Sunday now.

    Default Sounds good

If there are a few of us why don't we head off to the wallaby island wind permitting and have a long brew up/cook up with our various contraptions and just chill chat n paddle aswell as putting the cache back?

I bet theres some good gear to salvage/recycle on the islands in all that wind!

Forecast looks way too windy for us, so we'll go to Ikea instead . Like the extended brew-up idea though! Sometime soon?

I'm probably still going. If it is just silly windy int he morning I will have to do somewhere else but will see what it is like in the morning.

I'm not taking the Geocache anyway so it will be sticking to the sheltered bits of the straits if I am there.

    Default gales and horizontal rain

I'm gonna give it a skip today. Sainsbury's roof blew off in Clydebank last night and I've just run my wife to work this morning in Paisley and it was horiziontal rain and tremendous wind.

Och well I'm off work all this week so I'll get out later on when it's calmer

Does seem a bit wild. I'll just need to go out on Castle Semple Loch and practise getting about in the wind.
