    Default Firs Trip

I have not been in a canoe for over 20yrs, looking at doing the great glen passage from Fort William to Inverness as a first trip in a hired canoe. Raising money for a local hospice which gave end of life care to my sister. I will be paddling with my 18 year old niece, plan to do the journey in about 4 days, is this a realistic target? if all goes to plan hope to buy own open canoe.
    Thanks Roy

    Hi Roy and welcome.

    Aye, it's do-able if the weather's nice.

We had a go about this time last year though and only reached Fort Augustus, as it was very windy and choppy (especially on Loch Lochy) which made the going pretty slow.

Good luck to you both, let us know how you get on.

Here comes the future and you can't run from it
If you've got a blacklist I want to be on it

    Default Welcome

Good to have you along for the trip.

May the gentleness of morning, greet your silent passage through endless waters...

May all your winds be gentle. And for ww - May it rain the night before.
