    Post Hi from Warwickshire (newbie)

Hi I am back on the water again after many years.
I used to kayak in my 20's and owned a slalom Kayak and an enclosed canoe. but i gave up after an accident and i lost my nerve and couldnt face being wedged into a kayak style canoe.
In the last year the urge has come back to get on the water and have had full support from mrs ratty.
To get back into it we went out and bought an infatable (yes another one) and we have done a few trips,
Around the canals in my area.
An 18 mile trip down the Wye.
    A trip around Rudyard lake.
    Its great to be back

I do have alot more trips planned, which i have to reccy carefully as possible as mrs ratty cant walk to far and steep banks are a problem, as well as i dont want to overwhelm her and put her off a brilliant pastime.

Presently I am planning with the help of this forum which I have been reading for quite a while, and also building up our gear, We are going to get a hard shell canoe in the next few months which I have also been researching.

I think I better close this introduction before i write my whole life story.
and a Thank you to SOTP and its members for the site and its wealth of information
