Default Hello from the South Coast

    Hello!

Just wanted to pop by and say hello.

The wife and I purchased a Sevylor Colorado yesterday and plan on doing a little paddling along the Solent, although we are both newbies I used to do some canoeing/kayaking when I was a scout a few years back!!

However we'd love a weekend away on a lake somewhere in the UK. Can anyone suggest where to go? Ideally we'd be camping on/close to the lakes edge.

Can you suggest where we should visit?

    Thanks!

    Ben.

Welcome. I would be recommending places in Scotland but I am sure other members may recommend some lakes a little closer to home (although the trip to Scotland is well worth it )

    Hey ackee, welcome to SOTP.

I'm sure Ness is good, but I also know far, far better places for wild camping with a canoe! And Loch Ness isn't really the best place for Newbies in an inflatable, the monster doesn't like them!

Anyway, this thread is ages old, so doesn't really matter, I just wouldn't want somebody else reading it and thinking Loch Ness as a good place for beginners in a Sevylor...

    Thanks for helping though!
