    Hello everyone...just a quick introduction..I have recently purchased an open canoe and have taken it out just a few times..I am a single mother of two and my friends think im crazy to even think about canoeing on my own with two sproggies in tow..I am off up Scotland next weekend to lock tay..and i am thinking of taking my canoe (the beaver) on our holiday..I plan to hug the shore line and have life jackets for us all oh and knife..after reading it on here (just in case)..am i really mad or crazy!!!!! Anyone got any tips for this rather strange woman who thinks she can really do it all without a man...

    Sounds like you know your limitations, so enjoy. I would have advised to get some practice in first, but you will probably be paddling there now.
