Darn! - I'm going to have to start checking this site at midnight from now on, or I'm never going to find a second hand canoe .

I've decided not to proceed with this. It's just not quite what I'm looking for right now, so Gareth's boat is still available to anyone who's interested.

A friend said that if you contact Outward Bound at Loch Eil they have various canoes that they sell off every year at good prices and can be in quite good nick.

I'm not sure as to what time of the year they sell off, but if you contact them directly at the Loch Eil Centre they will be able to let you know. Let us know how you get on and good luck.

Outward bound sell them every 2 years.I know one of the canoeing instructors for them. They have Wenonah Auroras up in Fort William for 600 and 16ft prospectors for the same price. But they are in Glasgow. If you want I can give him a call to see whats available, they are not ready till April ( new tax year, plus its all Auroras then) but thay take deposits on the boats now. I know that they go quickly though, why? Because Ive got a prospector coming and so does Warthog!!
