Thanks for thr replys guys. I am certainly flexible for the next couple of weekends if anyone is up for it. A lot of the members from other areas seem to meet up for short paddles so I thought it would be a good ided.

Besides just having moved to the area I need some new like minded friends.

SSB is trying to get a date for us to do the Banwy, keep an eye on this one http://www.songofthepaddle.co.uk/for...ead.php?t=2152

I am very often organising midweek paddles, as I'm generally working weekends. I'm afraid though I'm pretty well fully booked up now till Christmas, but over the Christmas break and Jan, I'd be up for a paddle.

Yup, usually free all day - I'll paddle anywhere within reasonable reach of Coventry.

I live in the midlands and can sometimes get days off in the week for a paddle. I'm out in a boat most weekends too.

I've got nothing planned for next weekend (18-19 Nov) yet.......?

Sounds great but I'm currently out of action after putting my knee out on Waynes towBar On Crutches for a while!

Bear me in mind next time though as soon as I'm able to get in a canoe I will be.

    Happy paddling Crocbait.

I'd be interested in paddling on the 19th too Only river I know of (very ignorant of what's around there) is the upper Avon though - Jubilee Bridge to Eckington Bridge (between Evesham and Jct 8 of the M5) is about 10 miles.

Jubilee Bridge at Fladbury to Eckington Bridge is 12.7 miles. Suggest Julilee Bridge to Nafford Lock would be a better trip for a 'short paddle'. Just over 10 miles. Map at:

I was thinking of the upper avon and was checking my maps last night, Sounds good to me.

Whats going to be a good time to meet. Bearing in mind that we need to drop a car off at the finish.

Suggest we meet at the get-in at Jubilee Bridge at 10am and go from there. I've not paddled this bit before so don't have any info on it.

I thought the "upper" avon was above rugby. I nice narrow jungle run.

    Default ooh, me too.

I'm free that weekend and I'm always looking for paddling partners.
I don't know the stretch of water you're discussing, but I'm up for paddling it.

I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to make it - started work on Mon after a prolonged period of absence and didn't realise how tiring it was going to be! Have fun

Paul! would have loved to join you but I have a combination of haircut/walk the dog/work and a swimming gala to run...cant squeeze anything else in. My family have just arrived on Dartmoor and say the river is up and rising - so enjoy Sunday!

    Default storage problems

Sorry guys, Due to not being able to get my boat back from the girlfriends parents (it's the only place I could find to store it) I'm not going to be able to join you for the trip on Sunday. Hopefully I'll manage to get along to another one soon.

We waited for you Ian (Dallaway) but you didn't show - let us know next time mate and we won't have to hang around. Excellent paddle by the way.

    Jerry,
sorry for any confusion, my original post was that I was free that day, but as it happens something else did come up. I didn't actually say that I was going to make the trip. But I do really apologise if there was any confusion that I created. I hate letting people down, if I say I am coming them I AM COMING - really!

Really hope to come on a trip soon. Sorry again. Hope you had a good trip.
