    Default Anyone fancy Racing

I know there is a general uneasiness around racing on the site but for those of you interested in maybe seeing how fast you can get from A to B in your touring Canadians the Essex Winter Series Starts on November 5th. The Winter Series differs from other races in that we don't take ourselves too seriously and we have classes that are especially for particular craft. This inludes a TC2 Open class. The TC2 class generally runs over a distance of about 3 miles and normally includes no more than 2 portages (1 out and 1 back). You don't have to be quick just determined and believe me there is no more wonderful site than 8 or 9 C2's powering off the line - it really is something to behold.
The details of this years races are below, I'm the series co-ordinator so if you want more information let me know.
    RACE 1 - Bishop's Stortford, 5th November 2006
    RACE 2 - Cheshunt HYMB, 19th November 2006
    RACE 3 - Barking and Dagenham, 3rd December 2006
    RACE 4 - Sudbury, 14th January 2007
    RACE 5 - Chelmsford, 28th January 2007
    RACE 6 - Leaside, 25th February 2007

Feel free to come along and have a go

I know you are being a bit tongue in cheek but to make sure it is clear this site is for open canoeing in all its forms. Racing, whitewater, touring, recreation, whatever.

I actually think the site could do with more about racing and whitewater but since these are things I do not do I cannot fill the site with the content so it is up to members.

So maybe we need a 'Thrill of the Paddle' section for Grade 3 and over paddling.???
If it wasn't for the rain in our lives there would be no rivers. X 2
