Just to say that following the last few days rain the Medway is in the unusual state of actually having *flow* despite the best efforts of the water board to extract as much water as possible.

It took us almost an hour to get up to sluice weir from Yalding and about fifteen minutes to get back with the water rather high, and carrying quite a lot of silt. We didn't manage to paddle against the flow quite to the sluice but turned around twenty yards short, one of the roto-valves at Yalding was permanently open so playing in the weir pool should be interesting as well.
