    Default River Wye canoe camping

Has anyone any info on the River Wye. Good campsites etc? I'm looking at the Symonds Yatt to Haye on Wye area, though could move up or down?

    Default Wye, oh Wye!

Look at this site http://www.mountainandwater.co.uk/wyeroute.htm It is an excellent research tool. I canoed the wye from Hay on Wye to Monmouth in Feb of this year - fantastic trip. Good luck and enjoy. If you want any more specific info PM. This site is full of references to the river as well.

    Default Wye, wye, wye, delightful!

Just remembered - the Environment Agency produce a superb booklet 'Canoeists Guide to the River Wye'. Costs 5 and worth every penny. Details of all types of campsites from farmers fields to commercial set ups, with tel no's, Grid References and opening dates. Lots more useful info.

It's probably worth you looking at these two threads of the recent trip members of the forum did. They both contain useful links :-

...and I've just made some video of that trip available HERE

I think this may have gone out of print? I tried the Environment Agency, National river Authority and even www.abebooks.com let me down.

    Thanks anyway.

I see it is listed in the books section of the Endless River web shop. Might be worth giving Dave a ring.

Thanks for this, I tried Endless River but they are out of stock also, very helpful though.

Anyway, I contacted the Environments Agency and it apears that oneday this will be up-dated and re-printed, oneday..... Until then you can contact the environment agency and they will send a photocopy of the 'last' one.

There is also a lot of really useful information here:

    http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk...sion=1&lang=_e

including informatin about the 'Wye Navigation Order 2002' and the subsequnent (planned) 'Wye Navigation Plan'

Well worth a look if you are going to the Wye.
