Default How do I protect my royalex canoe

I`ve got a royalex canoe that i want to store on the roof of my narrow boat. I`ve heard that sunlight and heat can affect it, is there anyway that i can protect it?

303 aerospace protectant is the stuff recommended on some manufacturers websites to block UV.

    I haven't used it myself.

On very hot days (few and far between on Skye) I put an old sheet over mine. Seems to keep the temperature of the hull down.

303 Aerospace rubbed into the hull will protect it. Once every few trips or once per month (more or less) if not in use. It works like sun screen.

Default Thanks for gen on 303

Thanks for that info on 303 UV protection. I'd been meaning to set up a cover which would hav been difficult without making the garden look like a tip. Already get enough abuse about canoe and kayaks making the garden look a mess. Cheers for the info

    There is nothing—
    absolute nothing—half so much worth
doing as simply messing about in boats.
